Parker Tavern and its grounds are privately owned and maintained by the Reading Antiquarian Society, known informally as the Friends of Parker Tavern. Since our founding in 1916, we have been dedicated to the loving preservation of the historic integrity of this site for future generations to enjoy.

Tour Hours

Parker Tavern is generally open for guided tours from May through October on Sundays, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM.

To schedule a private Parker Tavern tour any time of the year please email Parkertavern1694@gmail.com.

We also welcome you to enjoy the Tavern’s grounds and beautiful gardens outside of tour hours year round. Be aware that the terrain may vary with weather conditions and seasonal changes; visitors explore the grounds at their own risk. While visiting and whenever passing through, please be respectful of the property, obey all posted guidelines, and do remember to clean up after your pets.

To support the continued preservation of the Parker Tavern for all to enjoy and learn from, we kindly ask that all visitors follow the guidelines below. By adhering to these guidelines and those posted on-site, you are helping to protect and preserve Parker Tavern, ensuring its stories can continue to be shared for generations to come.

General Photography

Visitors are welcome to take photographs for personal use inside the Parker Tavern, with permission from your guide. Please note that tripods and flash photography are not allowed inside to protect the historic floors and artifacts, and to ensure a positive experience for all guests. When taking photos, please be considerate of other visitors and avoid blocking their view or disrupting the flow of tours.

Professional Photography

Professional photography (including, but not limited to, commercial shoots, weddings, and media productions) is allowed by appointment only. To schedule a session and discuss fees, please contact us at friendsofparkertavern@comcast.net. Fees are nominal and directly support the ongoing preservation of Parker Tavern and its collections. Professional photography is generally limited to the outdoor areas of the property.

If you plan to share or publish any photographs taken at Parker Tavern, whether for personal or professional purposes, we kindly ask that you include a credit line such as: “Courtesy of Parker Tavern”. This helps us raise awareness of the site’s historical significance, and your cooperation is greatly appreciated.
